Meaning behind the art: The post-Thanksgiving holiday is an imperfect reality. This reality is so rich and real it gives way to deep emotions of human relationships. Using the contrast of black and white to symbolize how most of us see life when in fact there are more gray areas of our imperfection as human beings to accept. The red circle in my collage work symbolizes healing. Though I had a wonderful thanksgiving with our family and friends I know that others haven’t and this is when I create pieces as a raw states to symbolize our reality that it’s not always pretty but in its imperfect way it is so wonderful pure.
