Purchase a tote bag featuring the mixed media "It Hurts Too Bad" by Laura Lein-Svencner.   Our tote bags are made from soft, durable, poly-poplin fabric and include a 1" black strap for easy carrying on your shoulder.   All seams are double-stitched for added durability.   Each tote bag is machine-washable in cold water and is printed on both sides using the same image.

Artist's Description

Materials Used: 140lb. Watercolor paper, polymer medium, graphite crayon, image transfers, magazine images, Kraft paper gessoed with textured and acrylics applied, painted drawing paper and wax crayons sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.

Meaning behind the art: My daughter has a friend going through some heart wrenching times, and he was going through his mother�s thing and found a postcard and business card of my work. Now this was way before my daughter met this young gentleman. The piece of art on the postcard was a piece that I sold at the University Club in Chicago on Michigan Ave many years back. The crow was made from a map that I painted black and parts of the crow where sectioned up and reassemble. It gave a nice layered effect. I just found out about his mother having the post card saved�and well it�s some kind of wild connection. This piece was created in honor of my daughters� friend�Feeling powerless to help but can...

Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather’s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She’s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
