Meaning behind the art: This piece was created on a retreat back in September with the Midwest Collage Society members. Today I spent most of it finishing another piece of art for a submission of a show and I was cutting it close…had only 5 days left to complete it. So my time in the studio was zapped and today is my Husband Birthday so I wanted to have enough time to cook a good meal for him. Tomorrow will be Election Day and I’m not sure how to feel, I will vote thinking for next few generation to come and the planet we live on and pray for hope of our human race.
Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather’s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She’s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
